Indian Acupuncture and the Canon of internal energy and chakras Chinese and Indian Relationship.
Try to understand acupuncture is a source to enlighten the energy , guided by its own pathway deviced with the sources of chakras, so if any disease occurs it's not the cause it's the symptoms, the original cause is different, which is underlying in atomic format, a simple deviation, because of the internal changes in the body, the body tires to encounter it in many forms, and this encountering forms leads to the outer manifestation, which we see as symptoms. And that we say symptomatic treatment. But again when symptoms are suppressed without addressing the root cause , it leads to a more aggressive symptoms, and that is the fault of present treatment protocol. Superficial treatment is required but it should be called as real treatment, the treatment can be defines as identifying the root cause and treating it.
Chinese and Indian Philosophical study had a greater impact on Medicine and medicine was always believed to be the path of greater spirituality. we can see , through Buddhism, this two ancient civilisations were closely connected, not only geologically but in their thinking and understanding of the universe and the human experience. Yogis, Qi Gong masters, Sages and the Great Immortilists, philosophers, who very well knew , that is nothing called disease , it's just a variation in internal pattern of the energy, " physics always defines matter, as different forms of energy". Going ahead with this ideology sages and great Masters of this two countries always enshrined there pathway to enlightenment, and in this quest they realised various dimensions of energy and there pathway , they witnessed the real source of enlightenment and spiritual knowledge. Understanding the wide dimensions of the human body deeper energetical pathway , well-defined. For these ancient masters there was a pathway, known as Yoga, or 'oneness through knowledge' that was a part of the road to enlightenment. Going through this internal journey , they realised the power of chakras and the miraculous points of the body and to treat the root cause . This supreme knowledge was absorbed from either an authoritive source such as a spiritual master so called Guru or from direct experience after a long discipline of meditation and development of internal perception and intuition. From this knowledge came a deep understanding of the human body and its Chakra and Meridian systems, and it is through Mind-Body Medicine that we can today, in the 21st Century, understand and experience the interface of these two systems.
Ancient Indian Yogis who dedicated their lives to meditation, yoga and evolutionary growth towards Nirguna Brahma, they believed energy started from "Sagun Brahm" from finite to infinity. This is a beautiful journey depicted between the outerself and reaching the very atomic level of inner self , that which is unbound and beyond measure, the path began to explore the Chakra system, and made a diverse pathway leading the symbolising of Dasam Mahavidya , ten stages to attain the supreme knowledge. Each explaining the various stages of attainment, and attainment through definite pathway. These Chakras in the body are symbolized as lotuses each with a different number of petals; each petal is called a vrtti. If you were to add all the petals together (excluding those found at the top of the head) because those in crown are called the charkras of thousand petals. they make fifty. Each of these fifty petals ascribes one of the fifty letters in the Sanskrit alphabet. Every sound or letter represents a primordial urge that when triggered activates a sentiment or urge. This is the foundation upon which the science of mantras is built. In other words, these Yogis discovered that there are fifty primordial urges within the human being and each of these urges or sentiments is a vehicle through which concepts express themselves, or through which they can be stimulated. Leading to the final attainment of human life.
Indian acupuncture works with a similar system of subtle energy channels, called nadis. Like the meridians, the nadis are not physical anatomical structures. Life force energy, called prana in Sanskrit, flows through these subtle body channels. The nadis connect to the chakras. Various practices such as yoga aim to strengthen and support the flow of prana through the body and energy system.
In addition to the seven chakras of the subtle body, the Tantras ie chakra rituals have described a network of subtle channels known as nadis through which the life force (prana) circulate. Nadi means "stream". According to the tantric treatise Shiva Samhita, the real source of tantrism there are fourteen principal nadis. Of these, Ida, Pingala and Sushumna are considered the most important.
14 nadis are can be classified as follows
Sushumna
2. Ida
3. Pingala
4. Gandhari
5. Hastajihva
6. Kuhu
7. Saraswati 8. Pusha
9. Sankhini
10. Payasvini
11. Varuni
12. Alambusha
13. Vishvodhara
14. Yasasvini
Ida is the left channel. Ida is white, feminine, cold, represents the moon and is associated with the river Ganga (Ganges). Originating in Muladhara, Ida ends up in the left nostril. Yin energy
Pingala is the right channel. Pingala is red, masculine, hot, represents the sun and is associated with the river Yamuna. Originating in Muladhara, Pingala ends up in the right nostril. Yang energy.
Sushumna is the central channel and is associated with the river Saraswati. Within the Sushumna nadi there are three more subtle channels: Vajra, Chitrini and Brahma nadi through which Kundalini moves upwards running up the body from just below Muladhara chakra to Sahasrara chakra at the crown of the head.
The kanda in Muladhara chakra is the meeting place of the three main nadis and is known as Yukta Triveni (Yukta: "combined", tri: "three", veni: "streams"). In Muladhara, Shakti, the static unmanifested Kundalini, is symbolized by a serpent coiled into three and a half circles around the central axis Svayambhu-linga at the base of the spine. The serpent lies blocking the entrance to Sushumna, the central channel with his mouth. Sushumna remains closed at its lower end as long as Kundalini is not awakened.
The technique of chakra acupuncture and chakra consists in using Prana (the vital air), guiding its circulatory movement through Ida and Pingala down to the base of the spine into the space where Kundalini lies coiled. The vital energies of the opposite forces circulating in Ida and Pingala will be unified and Shakti Kundalini will then awaken and rise up Sushumna, energizing the seven chakras.
From Muladhara chakra, Ida and Pingala alternate from the right to left sides at each chakra until they reach Ajna chakra where they meet again with Sushumna.
In Ajna chakra the meeting of the three main nadis is called Mukta Triveni (Mukta: "liberated"). Continuing beyond Ajna chakra, Ida and Pingala end in the left and right nostrils respectively.
Once the Kundalini Shakti has ascended through Sushumna to Sahasrara, the highest psychic center at the crown of the head, it is made to reverse its course and return to rest in the base center again.
Sushumna: Passes through the spinal column, connecting the 1st (root) chakra to the 7th (crown) chakra. Sushumna is the path through which kundalini shakti, and the higher spiritual consciousness it can fuel, rises up from its origin in the first chakra to its true home at the 7th chakra. In yoga and other traditions, the sushumna nadi is thus the path to enlightenment.
Vrttis stimulate glandular and neurotransmitter activity, so their stimulation will be reflected in the activeness of a person's hormones and neural transmitters. Mind-Body medicine is used to regulate or heal unhealthy vrtti activity. If unhealthy vrtti activity is concept driven, then meditation, visualisation and mind-body medicine will positively reshape an individual's concepts.
In Yogic Science the collective name for the ten Vayus is Pranah. Pranah creates internal flows anchored at certain Chakra points as well as manifesting in external observed actions. The Yogi's saw Prana as the blind force which is controlled by the Mind. Life is just the adjustment between a physical and psychic body and Pranah.
While ancient Indian Yogi's were mastering their particular traditions of yoga and meditation and further explored the Chakra system, the Chinese sages and Immortilists focused on the study of the inner arts of Qi Gong and Nei Jing. Although today some scholars argue that the Meridian system was first discovered in India and brought to China by Buddhist monks, it was undoubtedly the Chinese who extensively developed and researched the flow of Qi through the Meridians. Evidence of Indian influence on Chinese medicine is more than definite, a number of Indian medical treatises are found in Chinese Buddhist collections such as the Ravana Kumara Tantra and the Kashyap Samhita and King Ravana, who lived over 5000 years ago and founded the Hela culture in Sri Lanka, was known as a great architect, astronomer, musician and acupuncturist.
The Huangdi Neijing or Yellow Emperor's Inner Cannon is the fundamental doctrine of Chinese Medicine which explains the meridians in detail and how the flow of Qi is influenced in a human's body due to emotions, thoughts, diet, the external environment, sexual relations and general lifestyle of the individual. Its exact date of origin is not known but we can be certain it is over 2000 years old.
Qi, like all the other five elements of matter, arises out of consciousness. It is organised and channelled by Mind structures. As Qi flows it brings vitality to the organs and systems of the physical body and the Mind level impacts on the physical body. The Meridians are subtle structures made of Mind, such as mind states, thought forms and attitudes, which influence the Qi, blocking or enhancing its flow through the Meridians.
As the great sages and Immortilists of China tracked the Qi along its pathways, they discovered different opening points which could be manipulated by a physician to allow the free flow of Qi when it was impaired or stagnant due to a disharmony of the Yin and Yang of the body. Today we call these points where the Qi collects and gathers an acu-points. Not only do acupuncturist or Tui Na/Shiatsu therapists use these certain points to support their patient's body through a healing process, but they can also be used by Qi Gong, Mind-Body medicine and Flower Essence practitioners.
In humans, thought forms are in the mind and process into the physical level through the aetheric subtle physical level within which the Chakras sit like a bridge between matter and mind. The Chakras are the first base. From there the effects of the mind in the body begin to affect the pathway of the Meridians as they channel vital force, Qi or Prana through the human form. Each Meridian pair and its system or organ function have their own individual physiological quality that is reflected in the story of the mind states along the meridian and the pivotal stages of the story at the acu-points.
